The Top 10 Excuses Kids Use to Drag Out Bedtime

Somehow, every kid naturally has the instincts of a high-priced attorney when it comes to negotiating at bedtime.

I’m just glad my kids are now adults…well, at least legally. Mentally…that’s a whole different conversation.

According to a new survey, the average parents with young kids spend 34 minutes a night on the bedtime process, which adds up to almost nine full days a year.

The average kid uses THREE excuses every night to try to drag out bedtime.

Here are the 10 most popular excuses:

  1. I’m not tired
  2. I’m hungry
  3. I need to use the potty
  4. I’m thirsty
  5. I want another story
  6. I’m too hot or cold
  7. I finally want to tell you about my day
  8. I want a kiss from the other parent
  9. I need a specific toy
  10. I want to cuddle
