Big Dave’s 5 Nuggets Of Knowledge For Your Noggin’ – (4/12/24)

Here are Big Dave’s 5 Nuggets of Knowledge for your Noggin’ – on this Friday, April 12th, 2024. Let’s learn something together:

  1. Wednesday was National Siblings Day, and Josh and Bo Naylor, both of the Cleveland Guardians, celebrated by each hitting home runs in their game on Wednesday, in the same inning.  It’s actually the 10th time since 1900 that two brothers have hit a homer in the same inning.  The others to do it include:  Hank and Tommie Aaron in 1962 . . . Cal and Billy Ripken in 1990 and 1996 . . . and Justin and B.J. Upton, who did it twice in April of 2013.  Josh and Bo also did it last summer.  But this is the first time anyone has done it on National Siblings Day.
  2. Steven Spielberg bought the rights to “Jurassic Park” just a few hours before James Cameron tried to get them.  Cameron says if he’d made the movie it would’ve been, quote, “nastier, much nastier.”
  3. The reason there’s a top 40 for songs is because jukeboxes in the ’50s used to hold exactly 40 songs.
  4. In the original version of “Snow White”, the story ends with the evil queen being forced to put on burning hot iron shoes and dance in them until she died.
  5. St. Louis hosted the third Olympics, which were in 1904.  They lasted five months and only 11 other countries sent athletes, so the U.S. DOMINATED.  They won 231 medals, and Germany was second with just 15.

Be sure to share these 5 Nuggets of Knowledge for your Noggin’ with your family, friends & coworkers at some point today!
