GN’R Trophy, Quiet Riot Mask among Rock Memorabilia hitting the Auction Block
The mask pictured on the Quiet Riot album Mental Health, the VMA award won by Guns N’ Roses in 1989 and Eddie Van Halen’s autographed “Frankenstrat” guitar are among the items that will be hitting the auction block next month, organizers say.
The pieces of rock history will be among a huge collection of memorabilia being offered at the upcoming “Icons and Idols: Rock N’ Roll Auction” at New York’s Hard Rock Cafe, according to Julien’s Auctions.
Among the dozens of other items that will be available are Robert Plant’s handwritten lyrics for “Kashmir,” an illustration drawn by Kurt Cobain, a handwritten Nirvana setlist and the speaker cabinet used by Flea while touring with Red Hot Chili Peppers, Julien’s officials say. The auction is set for November 19th and 20th.
