Five Ways to Avoid “Swamp Crotch” This Summer

It’s expected to be right around 100 degrees every day this week (and, likely, the next few months) in the Mad Rock Nation!  To help you deal with the crazy heat, here are five tips to avoid the dreaded “swamp crotch” issues this summer:

1.  Switch out your fabrics.  Breathable and moisture-wicking fabrics are what you want.  Also, loose-fitting clothing made from natural fabrics like cotton and linen maximize air circulation.

2.  Change your clothes after sweating.  The longer you leave sweaty clothes on, the longer you’re creating an environment for infections and rashes.

3.  Try a powder.  Apply an anti-fungal or jock itch powder after showering to help keep things dry.

4.  Consider an antiperspirant down there.  There are deodorants, antiperspirants, and wipes specifically designed for that area.

5.  Talk to your doctor.  If nothing is working, check in with your doctor.  They can make sure nothing is amiss.
