Big Dave’s 5 Nuggets Of Knowledge For Your Noggin’ – (8/18/23)

Here are Big Dave’s 5 Nuggets of Knowledge for your Noggin’ – on this Friday, August 18th, 2023. Let’s learn something together:

  1. There’s a town in Texas named “Canadian” and its citizens are called “Canadians.”  There are about 2,500 people there and the closing scene from the Tom Hanks movie “Cast Away” was filmed in Canadian.
  2. “Ticker tape parades” got their name because the confetti they used to use was the paper from manual stock ticker machines.
  3. Bob Ross made 1,143 paintings during his career on PBS.  The majority of them are stored at the headquarters of Bob Ross Inc. in Virginia and his business partner says they don’t have any plans to sell them because that, quote, “wasn’t really Bob’s thing.”
  4. Roger Moore retired from being James Bond at 58 years old because, quote, “The leading ladies were young enough to be my granddaughter, and it becomes disgusting.”
  5. Bill Murray’s character in the movie “Osmosis Jones” talks about the National Buffalo Wing Festival in New York . . . but it didn’t exist.  A guy in Buffalo, New York decided to start one after he saw the movie, and it’s been happening since 2002.  It’s over Labor Day weekend.

Be sure to share these 5 Nuggets of Knowledge for your Noggin’ with your family, friends & coworkers at some point today!
