Big Dave’s 5 Nuggets Of Knowledge For Your Noggin’ – (3/6/24)

Here are Big Dave’s 5 Nuggets of Knowledge for your Noggin’ – on this Wednesday, March 6th, 2024. Let’s learn something together:

  1. Delaware was the “first state” but up until 10 years ago, it was the only state that did not have a national park, a national monument, a national historic site, or any other unit of the National Park Service.  That changed in 2013 with the creation of “First State National Historical Park,” which is made up of seven sites throughout Delaware that “collectively tell stories that shaped the nation’s first state.”
  2. Harriet Tubman and Ronald Reagan were alive at the same time.  She died in 1913 when she was 91 years old . . . and he was born in 1911.
  3. When Australia was colonized in 1788, the first currency they used was rum.  And that lasted for more than a decade before they came up with a real type of money.
  4. We call our grandparents’ brothers and sisters great uncles and great aunts, but technically that’s incorrect.  We’re supposed to call them GRAND uncles and grand aunts.
  5. Canada is the only country to host an Olympics and not win a gold medal, when it hosted the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal.  Canadian athletes only won five silvers and six bronzes.

Be sure to share these 5 Nuggets of Knowledge for your Noggin’ with your family, friends & coworkers at some point today!
