We Can Still Get Our State Fair of Texas Food Fix & Pic With Big Tex This Year!
The State Fair of Texas is legendary for its fried food, so we were all devastated when they announced the fair was cancelled this year!
Well, they heard our cries, because they’ve announced they are offering a unique drive-thru experience called the “Big Tex Fair Food Drive-Thru” and I think this is a great idea!
You can pre-buy special Fair Food packages that include things like deep fried Oreos and sausage on a stick. PLUS, you can also get your annual photo with Big Tex…who will be wearing a face mask, in case you’re wondering.
Of course, it’s all an effort to help keep the fair spirit going and support the State Fair of Texas’s nonprofit mission.
The “Big Tex Fair Food Drive-Thru” is happening on select weekends in September and October with tickets being sold in advance with three entry windows. Here are those dates:
- Friday, September 25 through Sunday, September 27, 2020
- Friday, October 2 through Sunday, October 4, 2020
- Friday, October 9 through Monday, October 12, 2020 (excluding Saturday, October 10, due to the AT&T Red River Showdown football game)
- Thursday, October 15 through Sunday, October 18, 2020
Now, if you JUST want to get a picture with Big Tex & skip the food – you can do that September 19th & 20th from 10am-6pm during their photo-only Drive-Thru experience. Those tickets will also be pre-sold with three entry windows to limit wait times around Big Tex Circle.
