Sgt. Brett Mullen from the Sherman Police Department invited me (and other local media) to take a tour of their brand new headquarters yesterday (3/29/23).

And…WOW…it’s GORGEOUS! Definitely something for the city & community to be proud of.

The new headquarters replaces the old PD building (at 317 S. Travis St.), that was put into service in the late 1960s.

The new Sherman Police Department Headquarters is roughly 33,000 square feet of big & open spaces. The city of Sherman invested around $15 million dollars in the project & it took about four years to complete.

The new facility includes lots of offices, several conference & training rooms, a briefing room, interview rooms, a holding cell, plus a gym for officers & staff to workout.  And, let’s not forget about all the cool tech – like digital evidence lockers, biometric scanners for access, an electronic forensics lab, state-of-the-art dispatch/communication stations & so much more.

Want to see it for yourself?

The Sherman PD is hosting a PUBLIC Grand Opening of the new headquarters today (3/30/23) at 10am. You can join the celebration at 2600 West Travis Street in Sherman. They ask that you park along Northgate Drive. A shuttle will be provided to get you up to the building.
