Texas Made a List of the Top 10 Most Diverse States in America
A comprehensive new study ranked all 50 U.S. states by how diverse they are.
And it wasn’t just based on ethnicity, like you may think.
They looked at factors like: household income and education level, occupations, marital status and family size, cultural diversity, religious diversity and political diversity.
In the final ranking, the 10 MOST diverse states are:
- California
- Texas
- Hawaii
- New Jersey
- New York
- New Mexico
- Maryland
- Florida
- Nevada
- Arizona
The 10 LEAST diverse states are:
- West Virginia
- Maine
- Vermont
- New Hampshire
- Montana
- Kentucky
- Wyoming
- Utah
- Iowa
- Ohio
Even though Utah ended up in the bottom 10, it ranks as the state with the most income diversity, while Mississippi is last in that category. Nevada has the most diversity in terms of citizens’ birthplaces, while Louisiana has the least. And, in case you’re part of the Mad Rock Nation that lives North of the Red River & you’re wondering where Oklahoma was on the list – it was #21.
