A test pressing of Metallica’s Ride the Lightning just sold for $5,000.
The test pressing (which is usually just for the approval artists and producers) sold for 5 grand on Discogs, a site for music collectors and enthusiasts. Ride the Lightning was the most expensive item sold on the site in the month of August.
Nine other Discogs users claim they also have a test pressing of the album, one of which is currently up for grabs for $7,000.
