Randy Rhoads is getting the Musical Excellence Award from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

The Hall announced today that the legendary guitarist would receive the honor, which is given to musicians “whose originality and influence creating music have had a dramatic impact on music.”

The award began in 2000 as a ‘Sidemen’ category, meant to recognize uncredited musicians.

Ringo Starr and the E Street Band have previously gotten the award.
