While most people who have been in business for 50 years no longer have to work as hard as they used to, the members of Judas Priest aren’t slowing down a bit. Between hitting the road for a spring tour, planning for their upcoming Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction and mapping out their just-announced summer tour, the metal legends have been laying down tracks for their next album, says singer Rob Halford. Too many tracks, in fact.
“You can never have enough songs when you’re making an album,” says frontman Rob Halford. “Songs that you didn’t even know you had bits and pieces and fragments of, suddenly they become an incredibly important part of your record.”
The as-yet-untitled album reunites Judas Priest with the same production team that helmed 2018’s Firepower. “It sounds great,” Halford says. “I’m really pleased. I’m really, really happy that we’re not dropping the ball. Not that we ever have.”
