In the age old battle between Star Wars & Star Trek – Star Trek will always be my #1 pick!
Sure, I like Star Wars. Plus, Stargate & a whole bunch of other Sci-Fi shows & movies. But, I’d rather boldly go where no one has gone before than visit a galaxy far, far away.
So, as a good Trekkie – I know that it was on this day – September 8th, 1966 – the original pilot episode of Star Trek: The Original Series (TOS) “The Man Trap” aired on TV.
Since I know there are a lot of Trekkies in the #MadRockNation – CBS All Access is hosting a special celebration of Star Trek Day here — https://www.startrek.com/day.

Of course, William Shatner (aka Captain James T. Kirk) is apparently NOT happy about being left out of the festivities & has called out Alex Kurtzman. Not sure why that happened, but the way he’s throwing a fit in the media just gives more credence to all the stories about him being difficult to deal with. Here’s some more info about that:
