Elvis Presley was a fan of KISS, the late singer’s stepbrother has revealed.
Billy Stanley says he introduced Presley to KISS in 1975 when he played a copy of the album Alive! for him in Graceland’s basement. “He said, ‘So play that song again that you was just playing,’” Stanley says. “It was ‘Let Me Go Rock and Roll.’ I actually played it two times for him, and I was surprised when he said, ‘Play it again.’ I said, ‘What do you think?’ He said, ‘Well, I understand the whole thing. You know, KISS – keep it simple, stupid. And they got the makeup so they can walk around when they get off the stage. Good idea.’”
It turns out Elvis wasn’t the only Presley who was a member of the KISS Army. Stanley says his daughter, Lisa Marie, was also a fan.
