Geddy Lee opened up about the final days of Rush bandmate Neil Peart, in an interview with Canadian radio show House of Strombo.
Lee says Peart, who died of brain cancer in January 2020, “didn’t want anyone to know” about his illness: “He just didn’t. He wanted to keep it in the house. And we did. And that was hard.”
Lee says he and Alex Lifeson kept Peart’s secret under wraps for more than three years: “on one hand, it feels dishonest, but on the other hand you’re being loyal to your friend.”
