David Bowie Turned Down Role in James Bond Film

Once upon a time, there was a moment when David Bowie was considered for a role in a James Bond film.
Bowie reportedly was up for the role of head villain in A View to a Kill, but turned it down.
In an interview asking about the film, Bowie explained, “I think for an actor it’s probably an interesting thing to do, but I think that for somebody from rock it’s more of a clown performance.” Bowie continued, “And I didn’t want to spend five months watching my double fall off mountains.”
The role of villain Max Zorin eventually went to actor Christopher Walken.
