36 years ago today, Quiet Riot unleashed one of the most successful rock albums of the 1980’s. Metal Health would arrive just in time for the heyday of American hard rock and metal. The early 1980’s saw the rise of the “Sunset Strip” scene, with bands like Motley Crue, Ratt, Quiet Riot, among others, releasing landmark albums. However, no one could have forseen the impact and success this album would have. Metal Health was the first Heavy Metal album to reach number 1 on the Billboard Hot 200 Album Charts, spawned 2 top 100 hits and has to date sold more than 10 million copies worldwide.
