- Abraham Lincoln didn’t meet his first vice president, Hannibal Hamlin, until after they were elected. Lincoln picked him because Hamlin was from Maine, to help get votes from the northeast.
- The first time the “New York Times” mentioned Adolf Hitler was on November 21st, 1922. The article said, quote, “Hitler’s anti-Semitism was not so violent or genuine as it sounded.”
