Big Dave’s 5 Nuggets Of Knowledge For Your Noggin’ – (3/1/23)

Here are Big Dave’s 5 Nuggets of Knowledge for your Noggin’ on this Wednesday – March 1st, 2023. Let’s learn something together:

  1. A 2015 survey by the U.S. Energy Information Administration found that 30% of the country . . . around 35 million households . . . have at least two refrigerators “plugged in and turned on” at all times.
  2. For 17 years before Milton Hershey founded Hershey’s Chocolate, he tried to make caramels.  He finally got interested in chocolate in 1893.
  3. The ratio of cookie to cream in an Oreo cookie is 71% cookie, 29% cream.
  4. The Spice Girls got their nicknames from a magazine.  A British magazine called “Top of the Pops” did a story on them in 1996 and the writer and illustrator included a cartoon of them in a spice rack, labeled Ginger, Scary, Sporty, Baby, and Posh.
  5. The Titanic sank in 1912, but the last survivor was alive until 14 years ago.  Millvina Dean was two months old when her family went on the Titanic . . . she survived on a life boat and died in 2009 at age 97.  She participated in some Titanic-related events in her later years . . . but she refused to watch the movie “Titanic”.  And you can’t blame her.  She, her mother, and her brother all survived . . . but her father did not.

Be sure to share these 5 Nuggets of Knowledge for your Noggin’ with your family, friends & coworkers at some point today!
