Big Dave’s 5 Nuggets Of Knowledge For Your Noggin’ – (2/3/22)

Here are Big Dave’s 5 Random Facts for your Thursday – February 3rd, 2022. Let’s learn something together:

  1. The word “quarantine” comes from the Italian words for “40 days.”  This dates back to when it was discovered that ships were infested with plague-carrying rats, and they were forced to wait outside Venice for 40 days before coming ashore.
  2. “Forty” is the only number where the letters spelling it out are in alphabetical order.  “One” is the only number where the letters spelling it out are in REVERSE alphabetical order.
  3. Hugh Jackman didn’t know a wolverine was a real animal until he got to the set of “X-Men” . . . he thought his Wolverine character was based on a wolf.
  4. The writers of “Curious George” are Margret and H.A. Rey.  They were Jews living in Paris in 1940.  They fled right before the Nazis invaded . . . and took their manuscript for “Curious George” with them.
  5. Ransom payments are tax deductible . . . you just have to show something like a police report as proof of your loss.

Be sure to use one of these little tidbits in your life this week!
