Big Dave’s 5 Nuggets Of Knowledge For Your Noggin’ (11/19/21)

Here are Big Dave’s 5 Random Facts for your Friday – November 19th, 2021. Let’s learn something together:

  1. La Croix sparkling water gets its fancy French name from Wisconsin. It’s a cross between La Crosse, Wisconsin, where it’s made and the St. Croix River in western Wisconsin. Officially, it’s pronounced “la-croy,” so it rhymes with enjoy, not “la kwah” or “la krah,” like the French might say it.
  2. “Jingle Bells” was originally written to be a Thanksgiving song not a Christmas song.
  3. There’s a strong statistical connection between how much chocolate a country eats, and the number of Nobel Prize winners they have.
  4. In the early Sherlock Holmes stories, he was addicted to cocaine.
  5. The reason a zero is called “love” in tennis most likely comes from the French word for “the egg,” which is “l’oeuf” . . . since an egg looks like a zero.

Be sure to use one of these little tidbits in your life this weekend!
