Big Dave’s 5 Nuggets Of Knowledge For Your Noggin’ – (10/13/23)

Here are Big Dave’s 5 Nuggets of Knowledge for your Noggin’ – on this Friday, October 13th, 2023. Let’s learn something together:

  1. More than 99% of all organisms that have ever lived on Earth are extinct.
  2. The winner in nine of the 59 presidential elections in U.S. history had a popular vote margin under 1%.  That includes the five winning candidates who lost the popular vote, and four others who won it by less than 1%.
  3. On Alicia Keys’ debut album, “Songs in A Minor”, only two of the 16 songs are actually in A Minor.  She may’ve picked the title because she was under 18 when she wrote most of the songs.
  4. Jane Austen’s books sold well when she was alive, but she was paid very little.  She made about $375 for “Mansfield Park”, which is around $27,000 in today’s dollars.
  5. There was a radioactive tonic called RadiThor sold in the U.S. from 1918 to 1928.  It promised to cure lots of issues, including impotence.  But it killed people who drank it, and they were buried in lead coffins to keep the radiation from spreading.

Be sure to share these 5 Nuggets of Knowledge for your Noggin’ with your family, friends & coworkers at some point today!
