Big Dave’s 5 BONUS Nuggets Of Knowledge For Your Noggin’ – Friday the 13th Edition – (10/13/23)

Here are Big Dave’s 5 BONUS Nuggets of Knowledge for your Noggin’ – a special FRIDAY THE 13TH EDITION for this Friday, October 13th, 2023. Let’s learn something together:

  1. An estimated 17 to 21 million Americans have a fear of Friday the 13th.  And it can manifest in many ways, from refusing to fly on this day to not leaving the house at all.
  2. Since so many people change their plans or stay home, businesses in the U.S. lose an estimated $800 to $900 million each time there’s a Friday the 13th.
  3. The maximum number of times that a Friday the 13th can occur in any given year is three, but it’s guaranteed to come up at least once a year.
  4. This is the second Friday the 13th in 2023, the first was in January.  The next one won’t be until next September.
  5. Friday the 13th has become one of the most popular days of the year to get a tattoo.  It’s like Black Friday for tattoo artists, and it’s supposed to bring you good luck.  Getting a tattoo of the number “13” is especially popular.  So how did it happen?  Most sources credit Oliver Peck, who was married to Kat Von D and a judge on the show “Ink Master” for nine seasons.  He organized a marathon tattoo session in Dallas on a Friday the 13th in 1995.  Then in 2008, he set a record by doing 415 tattoos of the number “13” in 24 hours.  He says he didn’t come up with it though, he just made it an “event.”  “Vice” did a story on it in 2017, and Google searches for “Friday the 13th tattoos” skyrocketed.  Now the same thing happens every Friday the 13th.

Be sure to share these 5 Nuggets of Knowledge for your Noggin’ with your family, friends & coworkers at some point today!
