Are These Really The BEST Bands From Texas, Oklahoma & Other States?!
The writers at Thrillist.com put together a list of the supposed best band from every state in the United States.
There are likely a lot of bands you haven’t heard of on this list. And, personally, I think the picks for both Texas & Oklahoma are wrong (but, I’m biased).
Anyway, here are the more recognizable names:

California: The Beach Boys
Connecticut: MGMT
Delaware: George Thorogood and the Destroyers
Florida: Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
Georgia: OutKast
Idaho: Built to Spill
Illinois: Earth, Wind & Fire
Indiana: The Jackson 5
Iowa: The Everly Brothers
Kansas: Kansas (Duh.)
Kentucky: My Morning Jacket

Minnesota: Prince and the Revolution

Nevada: The Killers
New Jersey: Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band
New Mexico: The Shins

Oklahoma: The Gap Band (Come on, the names Garth Brooks, Reba McEntire, Blake Shelton, Toby Keith, Kings of Leon and The All-American Rejects don’t ring a bell?)
Pennsylvania: The Roots
Rhode Island: Talking Heads
South Carolina: The Marshall Tucker Band
Texas: Destiny’s Child (Seriously? What about freakin’ ZZ TOP or Pantera or Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble…just to name a few better options, in my opinion!)
