4 Random Facts about “Fast Food”

Hey there, Mad Rock Nation — it’s National Fast Food Day!

So, here are 4 Random Facts about the food most of us LOVE, but many of us shouldn’t eat (but, still do):

1.  You used to be able to get spaghetti at McDonald’s. “McSpaghetti” was around in the 1980s, and you can still get it in the Philippines.

2.  Taco Bell used to have a menu item called a “Bell Burger.” It was basically a taco in a hamburger bun. It was on their menu from the mid-60s to mid-70s. My favorite fast-food restaurant – Taco Casa – has always offered something similar to this – their Chili Burger! And, yes, I get mine WITH cheese.

3.  Arby’s once aired a 13-hour television commercial of a beef brisket being smoked. It aired in Duluth, Minnesota in 2014. It was the record for longest commercial ever aired. But then Old Spice aired a 14-hour ad in Brazil two years ago & beat that record.

4.  On average, 37% of American adults eat fast food on any given day, according to the CDC. Around 11% of all the calories we eat come from fast food.
