Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!! Your overwhelming support & generous donations during the 22nd Annual Bob Skaggs Memorial Food Drive has put another record-breaking year in the books. It’ll take our friends at the Salvation Army of Grayson County a while to count all those items & give us a final tally, so until we can share that number with you – we just want to wish you and your Family a Happy Thanksgiving and say a great big, gigantic, monstrous THANK YOU to everyone who made a donation!!!!
Your Hometown Radio Stations – 93.1 KMKT, 97.5 KLAK and Mad Rock 102.5 – are pumped to bring you our 22nd Annual Bob Skaggs Memorial Food Drive – presented by Tyson Foods, Visionary Home Health Care & Lankford Roofing – Monday, November 19th through Wednesday, November 21st!
This year we celebrate 22 years of helping local families have enough food to eat through the Salvation Army of Grayson County’s food pantry. Last year we set a new record for donations with 185,657 food items donated! That’s over 53 full pallets of food!
With your help, we know we can break that record!
So, please get with your family, neighbors & co-workers now and start collecting your canned goods, other non-perishable items & cash donations. That way you can bring them all to us as we broadcast LIVE from the Walmart Super Center in Sherman (Hwys 75 & 82) for the two & a half days before Thanksgiving. We’re keeping the EXTENDED hours we had last year to give you more time to bring your donations to us later in the evening. We’ll accept your donations from 6am-8pm on Monday, November 19th, 6am-8pm on Tuesday, November 20th and from 6am-Noon on Wednesday, November 21st.

So, what kinds of non-perishable food & other items are needed? Here’s that info from our friends at the Salvation Army of Grayson County:
Every year the Salvation Army in Grayson County serves more than 15,000 pounds of food each month through meals to the homeless and food pantry operations. An estimated 22% of our neighbors in Grayson County don’t know where their next meal is coming from. The amount of food provided to each household depends upon the household size, the ages of household members, and special nutritional needs of the household. When available personal care and household supplies are also included. The Annual KMKT/KLAK/KMAD Bob Skaggs Memorial Food Drive is the largest food drive benefiting the Salvation Army in the State of Texas. Each and every item received in this food drive stays in Grayson County.
