Some days are just good days for rock! This is certainly one of those days. On this day in 1984 Iron Maiden unleash the next in a series of huge studio albums with the release of Powerslave. The album contains some of the bands most loved and best known songs, including Aces High and 2 Minutes to Midnight.

BUT WAIT…..There’s more!!

On this same day, way back in 1990, the great Judas Priest introduced us to a new drummer named Scott Travis and a brutal new album called “Painkiller”. Though it would be the first to feature Travis on drums, it would be the last to feature vocalist Rob Halford until his return to the band in 2005. The album though finished and ready to go by March of ’90 would not be released officially until September due to the band fighting a lawsuit alleging the band was responible for the suicide attempts of two Reno Nevada teenagers 5 years earlier.
