I have my own opinions on the value of an organization like PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals)...but I have to question the logic of acts like this.



These three "chicks" came up with the idea (did they have help?) to take off their tops, sit in a cage and urge others to boycott Kentucky Fried Chicken (in Australia).  I can only imagine how the meeting went to make this decision and how they came to the conclusion the idea would actually work.  Sure, they received some media attention- but not the kind they probably wanted.  It's obvious most PETA members believe in the "any publicity is good publicity" philosophy...although it has not worked out well for them the last few years.

So in case any ladies in the U.S. are thinking about copying this protest, I'd like to provide some advice.  Topless "chicks" are not going to make me, or most men for that matter, STOP eating KFC when I want some finger-lickin' goodness...so don't even try.  However, if my local KFC can promise they might have HOT topless PETA protestors on a regular basis, they might actually see an INCREASE in sales- at least from me. 

Dinner and a show...sign me up!!


BTW- If you're a member of PETA- good for you.  I'm glad you've found something you feel is important.  You're welcome to NOT eat any meats or wear certain clothes.  But nothing you say, do or claim is going to cause me to have some type of vegan epiphany.

I don't care how my fried chicken was treated or killed...I just like it extra crunchy...
I don't care how my hamburger was treated or killed...I just like it smothered with cheese and mayo...
I don't care how my bacon/sausage was treated or killed...I just like it on the plate with my scrambled chicken embryos...
 
I saw Fast Food Nation and it didn't have any effect on me...except for make me want to go out to eat a delicious, juicy perfectly-cooked medium-rare steak!  In fact- now I'm hungry again...
