North Texas Has Some Of The BEST High Schools In The Country

The new rankings are out & it looks like North Texas is home to several of the BEST High Schools in the entire country! Woo-hoo!

U.S. News & World Report analyzed and ranked more than 21,000 Public High Schools in all 50 states based on college readiness of graduating students, % of graduates and other factors. Based on the results, High Schools were awarded a Gold, Silver or Bronze ranking. Here’s how North Texas schools stacked up:

None

SILVER

Prosper (88th in Texas; 773rd in U.S.)

McKinney North (90th in Texas; 794th in U.S.)

McKinney High School (96th in Texas; 878th in U.S.)

McKinney Boyd (106th in Texas; 923rd in U.S.)

Allen (144th in Texas; 1543rd in U.S.)

Pottsboro (175th in Texas; 2051st in U.S.)

Sherman (190th in Texas; 2273rd in U.S.)

Honey Grove (204th in Texas; 2609th in U.S.)

BRONZE:

Bells

Celeste

Denison

Dodd City

Era

Leonard

Van Alstyne

Whitewright

 

Although we did check, unfortunately, none of the Oklahoma schools in the Mad Rock listening area were given a Gold, Silver or Bronze ranking by U.S. News & World Report this year. But hey, there’s always next year!
